Learn English with Bob the Canadian channel

Last week I did an English lesson about spring, but I was inside the whole time! I thought since today was such a nice day I should walk around and use some of the terms and phrases that I taught last week while I was outside. In this English lesson you'll learn English words and phrases as I show you the actual item as I walk around and enjoy spring. Spring actually started a few weeks ago, but today the weather is much more spring-like so I got out my camera and headed outside. I'm happy I could just go outside with only a spring jacket on and make this review lesson. In this English lesson I will help you learn the English vocabulary about spring! You'll learn words and phrases like: springtime, to leaf out, blossoms, buds, migrate, puddle, rubber boots, spring jacket, spring breeze, fresh air, winter tires, mud, and more! I hope you enjoy this English lesson about spring! -- βŒ› Remember: Always watch the video three times. Twice today with English subtitles on, and once tomorrow with the English subtitles off. 00:00
So the other day, I did a lesson about spring,
00:03
and I thought because it was such a nice spring day,
00:05
I should come out and do a little bit of a review for you.
00:09
As you can see, I'm wearing my spring jacket,
00:12
and I'm also wearing my rubber boots.
00:15
It's nice to have rubber boots in the spring,
00:17
so that when you walk in something like this puddle,
00:20
and we have lots of puddles, my feet don't get wet.
00:24
We've been having quite a few spring showers lately.
00:27
So there's definitely puddles in the driveway,
00:31
and it's nice to have rubber boots,
00:32
so I can walk through them without getting my feet wet.
00:35
When you walk over here,
00:36
you can notice that the grass is turning green.
00:40
It's really nice to see the grass turning green.
00:43
Soon we'll have to mow it.
00:45
It certainly is a lot nicer than it was a few weeks ago
00:47
when it was just really, really brown.
00:51
This tree though, doesn't have leaves yet.
00:54
It is going to leaf out in the next couple of weeks.
00:58
Right now, you can see that this tree has buds on it,
01:02
and inside the bud are probably tiny, tiny leaves
01:05
waiting to just come out in a few weeks.
01:07
I can't wait for this tree to leaf out,
01:10
because then I will have some shade,
01:12
and I can sit under there on a hot day,
01:14
and the sun won't burn me,
01:17
one of the problems that I have sometimes
01:19
in the spring and in the summer.
01:21
Now unfortunately, the geese,
01:24
which usually migrate south in the winter,
01:27
and come back in the spring, they're not here today.
01:30
Actually, that's not true.
01:31
They were here earlier this morning,
01:33
and they decided to go somewhere else.
01:36
I thought that they would be in the video,
01:38
but I'll show you some geese
01:39
maybe in another video sometime.
01:42
As we walk this way,
01:43
I just wanna say it's nice to be outside in the spring.
01:47
In the springtime,
01:48
there's a lot of opportunities to go outside for fresh air.
01:53
I am really enjoying the fresh air and the spring breeze
01:58
that's blowing this morning.
01:59
Hopefully it's not making the audio sound weird.
02:03
Sometimes when it's too windy, that happens.
02:06
Hey, when you look at my vehicles,
02:07
the red van has normal tires on it,
02:10
but the blue van still has snow tires on it.
02:14
One of the things we do in spring
02:15
is we take the snow tires off our vehicles.
02:18
We take the winter tires off, and we put on normal tires.
02:24
If I'm quiet, you can hear a bird chirping,
02:26
definitely another sign of spring.
02:31
Hopefully my microphone is picking that up.
02:35
As we walk this way,
02:37
you'll see that this tree has buds on it as well.
02:40
Soon, these three trees will leaf out,
02:42
and we'll have lots of shade over here too.
02:45
And I'm glad I have my rubber boots on still,
02:47
because if you can see down here, there's a lot of mud.
02:52
You can even see my footprints after I step here.
02:54
So I'm glad I'm wearing rubber boots,
02:56
so that I can step in the mud with no problems.
03:00
I was going to show you daffodils and tulips,
03:03
but I actually think there's only daffodils here.
03:07
So this is a bed, a flower bed.
03:10
These are daffodils.
03:12
Those are the nice yellow flowers.
03:13
They will bloom in about two or three weeks.
03:16
And hopefully we can get some together into bouquets,
03:21
and sell them.
03:23
But hey, anyways,
03:24
thank you so much for watching this little review lesson.
03:27
I hope you enjoyed walking out here with me.
03:30
I hope you enjoyed a little bit of nature,
03:32
the sounds of birds chirping,
03:34
seeing the little buds on the trees, and all that.
03:37
I hope that you learned a lot of vocabulary about spring,
03:40
and I hope you're having a good spring yourself
03:41
if you're in the Northern Hemisphere.
03:43
Have a good day, I'll see you Friday, I guess,
03:46
with a live stream, I hope to see you there, bye.
03:49
(upbeat music)
